Keonjhar: A day after OrissaPOST brought out a standalone picture showing pedestrian commuters negotiating an open drain along the busy road in front of the Collectorate here, the district administration began its repair works, sources said Thursday. Notably, the drain on the footpath has been lying open for months. Pedestrians do not only face difficulty along the risky patch of a footpath but also meet many mishaps.
Especially, the open drain near the traffic post was putting visitors to the Collectorate, bust stop, and other offices in a fix. Notably, the place is also meant for protesters staging rallies and demonstrations along with the deployment of police personnel. However, local residents and commuters have expressed their happiness over the development.
