When a small town artist makes up his mind to face challenges, Tarun Rathore is what we get. An influencer, choreographer and dancer, Tarun has reached the 1 million fan club in JOSH, dancing his way all over. The BBA graduate, Tarun, was a few years into his corporate job when he got the pink slip during the Lehmann Bros. crash. When he returned home, his mother persuaded him to participate in the show Dance India Dance 3. He was chosen as one of the top 100 contestants and received special recognition from Remo D’Souza, who was to cast him in ABCD 1. It did not materialise later due to unavoidable circumstances.
Tarun later learned the intricacies of dance while working as an assistant choreographer at the Terrance Lewis Academy. When he returned home, he established his dance academy. His students admired him more than his family. He choreographed a town event that was covered by a local newspaper. He became famous overnight. With his student base growing and some of them becoming proficient in videography, he began producing his own videos. Seeing himself dance gave him an incredible surge of energy, and he decided to become a content creator.
Tarun had gained enough confidence to face the camera, and thus began his Instagram journey. He was moving forward by establishing a credible fan base and collaborating with other influencers and celebrities. JOSH recognised his ability and hired him as their brand choreographer. Tarun has choreographed for a variety of brands through the Josh App. His 1 million journey was a dance walk though, because when you work for passion, you don’t feel like working, he says.
