Bhubaneswar: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) centre here, rainfall activities are very likely to occur over several districts in the state till May 19. IMD also issued a yellow warning for next five days. Light to moderate rainfall has occurred at most places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, according to IMD’s mid-day bulletin.
Heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Khurdha, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Balasore, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Bhadrak. The state recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius in Boudh and the lowest minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius at Talcher Sunday.
IMD’s evening bulletin predicted light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state May 13. IMD also issued ‘yellow warning’ for May 13 over several districts. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30- 40kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak, read the evening bulletin. Light to moderate rain, with thundershowers, may occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha May 14, IMD informed. There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day) during next 3 to 4 days. Capital city may witness partly cloudy skies with the possibility of thunder and lightning. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be very likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively, informed the regional MeT centre here.
