Berhampur: The railway traffic came to a grinding halt for nearly two hours in Berhampur Railway station after a youth climbed atop a high-tension tower and threatened to commit suicide.
The youth has been identified as Pallav Bardoli (24) from Navagaon in Assam. After much effort, the Railway authorities and fire personnel rescued him from the tower.
According to reports, some passengers first spotted the man atop the tower and alerted the railway authorities, who immediately disconnected the power supply.
The railway authorities and fire personnel talked to Pallav and convinced him to get down.
According to reports, the youth is a mentally unstable person. He was admitted to a hospital.
