Koraput: A youth was critically injured in a landmine blast carried out by suspected Maoists here Wednesday. The victim was rushed to the Ramgiri hospital from where he was later shifted to the Boipariguda Community Health Centre (CHC) in a critical condition.
Police said the gang of Maoists blocked the road by cutting down trees at Kaliajhola under Boipariguda block and they kept a bag that contained explosives there. They also put up a poster asking the youths to join the Red camp.
The bag exploded when the youth, unaware of the poster and the threat, touched the bag. He was seriously wounded.
