Patna: Police Saturday detained a youth on the charge of raping a minor girl at Mangalpur village under Sahar block in Keonjhar district. He was identified as Kunu Munda (20).
Kunu was detained while his interrogation was on.
According to sources, there is no proper network and mobile tower connection in the village. So, the victim had gone to a network available place to talk to a friend. Finding her alone, Munda is said to have gagged and dragged her into a forest where he forced himself upon her.
After committing the crime, he threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. However, the girl returned home and narrated her ordeal to her family members who lodged a written complaint with the police.
Acting on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered and a probe is on, IIC Satyajit Das said.
