Cuttack: The body of a youth was found hanging from a swing meant for celebration of Raja festival at Brahmei Pitha in Odisha’s Cuttack district under mysterious circumstances, a source said.
The deceased youth was identified as Anil Behera from Sahadapada village under Banki police limits.
On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased brought in murder allegations regarding his death.
One of Anil’s family members said that he left home Friday night and never returned.
The uncle of the victim suspected that he has been killed as his feet were touching the ground when they first saw his body hanging from the swing.
Anil’s family members demanded a detailed investigation into his death.
Banki Police Station Inspector Soumendra Sekhar Tripathy said whether Anil was murdered or committed suicide will only be know after a thorough investigation. “The immediate cause of death can be ascertained after we receive the postmortem report,” he added.
Police have launched a probe to ascertain the reason behind the mysterious death.
