Bhapur: A youth allegedly committed suicide after raping a woman in her house in Fategarh in Nayagarh district Saturday. His body was found hanging from a tree in the morning.
The woman was asleep in her house Friday night when Satyajit Das (28) of Nimpatra entered the house and allegedly committed the crime. As the woman screamed for help, her husband woke up. But then, the accused fled the scene, leaving behind his cell phone and bicycle.
However, in the morning, he was found hanging amid doubt that he might have taken the extreme step in fear of embarrassment. Police registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation.
