Telkoi: In a brutal incident, a woman was hacked to death by her brother-in-law over a family dispute at Khandapada village under Telkoi police limits in Keonjhar district Sunday night.
The accused was identified as Sagar Munda (25), while the deceased was identified as Mukta Munda (36), wife of Sagar’s elder brother Manu Munda.
Acting on a complaint by Manu, police have registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.
A police team reached the village and seized the body, while Sagar is on the run after the incident.
According to police reports, an exchange of words took place in the family during recently concluded Raja celebration, which later turned fatal. In an act of revenge, Sagar took an axe and hacked Mukta to death.
