Patkura: A youth, after being invited for a birthday party, was murdered at Dhumat Matha Sahi near Nikirai in Kendrapara district Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Santosh Mallick (20).
According to reports, the deceased had an altercation with his neighbour Sunakar’s family over some issue earlier.
Sunakar invited Santosh for the birthday party of the former’s daughter. Santosh, who was reportedly attacked by Sunakar with a lathi, had been rushed to Kendrapara district hospital in a critical condition. Later he was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital but Santosh succumbed to his injuries.
Santosh’s mother has registered a complaint with the Nikirai police station.
