Patrapur: A 24-year-old youth has been tested dengue positive at Sunakhala village under Gundra panchayat of this block in Ganjam district. He was identified as Rajesh Pradhan (24).
Pradhan was placed under treatment in a local hospital first and has been shifted later to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for further treatment.
He has been admitted to a separate ward. Rajesh was a migrant worker in Hyderabad from where he got the disease. Initially, he thought it was normal fever and adequate treatment has not been taken.
Fellow workers admitted him to a hospital in Hyderabad after his condition got worsened.
However, there was no improvement in his condition even after undergoing treatment for more than a week.
Left with no option, he had been sent back to his village by his employers following which his family members
admitted him to a hospital here.
