Tundala: Police Tuesday recovered the body of a local youth from a farm here under Kesinga block in Kalahandi district. While the reason for the death was not clear, preliminary police investigations hinted that this was a pre-planned murder. The body bore wounds in the neck and on the head.
The deceased was Durgeswar Padhan (28). He was killed elsewhere but the body was dumped in the farm to erase evidence, police suspect. The incident occurred Monday night.
Locals spotted the body at an isolated place Tuesday morning and alerted the police. Kesinga SDPO Gupteswar Bhoi, IIC BD Chatria and Palam outpost officer AK Panda reached the spot and launched a probe. A scientific team and a sniffer dog team were engaged in the probe.
The body was sent for post-mortem while a probe was on. We will arrest the accused soon, police said.
