Rourkela: A Plus II student drowned while taking a bath in the Koel river here Saturday. His body was recovered later.
The deceased was identified as Rahul Patra (17), a Plus Two student of the Government Autonomous College here.
According to reports, Rahul along with his friends went to the Koel river near Teterkela for a bath in the morning. As his foot slipped, he entered into deep water and drowned. After he went missing in the water, his friends sought help from locals to rescue him.
On receiving information from the locals, the police and fire service personnel rushed to the site and started a search in the river.
Later, Rahul’s body was recovered from the river.
