London, Oct 29: Birthday boy Vijender Singh urged the Indian community in Dublin to turn up in large numbers to support him during his second pro fight November 7.
Vijender, who turned 30, Thursday, said he was missing his Indian friends and fellow boxers on this special day. “I am missing my Indian friends, fellow boxers and coaches but my new partners and trainers here have made it special by getting a cake, gifts etc,” he informed.
“I am just training hard for my next fight and focusing on the win next Saturday at Dublin. I am sure Indian community in Dublin will turn up in large numbers to cheer and support me,” the boxer added.
The Indian pugilist visited the House of Commons here, Wednesday evening after being invited by MP Keith Vaz. He was presented with souvenirs during the hour-long meeting with the Indian-origin British MP at the Chess Room of the Parliament. “It was indeed a great honour for me,” stated Vijender who met the MP for an hour.
