Umerkote: As many as 11 persons from two villages were injured in a clash over a plot of forest land at Anchala panchayat under this block in Nabrangpur district Tuesday. Nine of them were seriously injured and rushed to the district hospital.
A rift prevailed between the inhabitants of Pakanaguda and Karadiguda villages over possession of a piece of forest land. The villagers of Panakaguda have been doing cultivation there for the past 20 years. However, those from Karadiguda tried to snatch the land away by arguing that this plot was closer to their village.
This led to a group clash in which six of Panakaguda and five of Karadiguda villagers were injured. No police complaint has been made so far.
