Kendujhar: A young woman’s body was recovered from a mango tree in Banabir village under Dalpaka panchayat within Patana police station limits Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Pushpanjali Naik, daughter of Sushil Chandra Naik of Banabir village.
According to reports, Pushpanjali had left home at around 2 pm Wednesday. On Thursday morning, some locals who had gone to the forest to collect firewood spotted her hanging from a mango tree and informed her family and the police.
On receiving the information, Patana police reached the spot, recovered the body and launched an investigation.
The exact cause of her death has not yet been ascertained. Several injuries were reportedly found on her hands and legs. Police said the cause of death would become clear after the post-mortem report.
