Ganjam: Three children were injured, one of them critically, after chunks of ceiling fell on them at their home at Sana Gopalpur under Santoshpur panchayat in this district Saturday night.
The injured were identified as Tapaswini Tarai, 9, Lipsa Tarai, 5, and Srabani, 7, granddaughters of Lalit Tarai. Tapaswini’s condition is stated to be critical.
Family members rushed them to Khandeuli hospital from where Tapaswini was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
The family members were having dinner Saturday night when the ceiling chunks fell on them. Sarpanch Niranjan Reddy met the family members and informed about the mishap to the Ganjam tehsildar and BDO over phone.
BDO Jyoti Shankar Ray said the affected family will be recommended for a house under the Indira Awas Yojana after receiving a complaint.
