Padmapur/ Gopalpur: Three minors drowned in separate incidents in Bhadrak and Ganjam districts Saturday.
Two children drowned in ponds at Adia under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak. They were missing since 4 pm Friday. Locals found a body afloat in the pond Saturday morning. The deceased was Raja (8), son of Khageswar Mallick.
In another case, a minor girl Suparna Kala (2) drowned in a pond in the same village. Police seized the bodies and registered two cases.
In yet another incident, a six-year-old girl accidentally fell into an open well near a pond and drowned in Digipur under Gopalpur police limits in Ganjam district Saturday. The incident occurred when A Janaki accompanied her mother to the pond. Her mother was washing clothes when she slipped into the well and drowned.
Gopalpur police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem, IIC Susant Kumar Sahu said.
