3,403 to take JEE Advanced today

Bhubaneswar, May 23: About 3,403 candidates will appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2015 in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela Sunday.
The examination will be held in two sittings, with the first sitting from 9 am to noon and the second from 2 pm to 5 pm. One superintendent, two observers and three examiners have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. The local police will also help in maintaining peace during the test.
About 52,800 students from the state had appeared for the JEE Main this year which was held April 4 on offline basis and April 10 and 11 on online basis. The results for JEE Main were declared April 27.
Students who qualify in the JEE Advanced 2015 will be eligible for admission into various undergraduate programmes offered by premier institutes such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM) in Dhanbad.There are about 1,500 seats available at the 16 existing IITs and one ISM Dhanbad.
The National Institute of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) will provide admission to students on basis of the JEE Main merit list.
Students will get to choose from around 88 institutes from June 25 on a single website hosted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
