Keonjhar: A four-year-old girl died from snake bite at Manata village near Ghatagaon in this district Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Priyadarshini Nayak.
The family members, who went to bed after dinner, found the minor in an unconscious state Monday morning. Realising that it was snake bite, she had been rushed to the Ghatagaon community health center where the doctors declared her brought dead.
With the onset of rainy season, the number of snake-bite death cases is on the rise.
A six-year-old girl died from snake bit at Hatichua village near Sadar in this district July 11.
