Well, Rohit Sharma has some records to his name that can make it tough for even someone like Kohli. Today, let’s look at 5 such records of Rohit Sharma.
- Double century in ODI Cricket: When someone thinks about Rohit Sharma, the first thing that comes to their mind is ‘double hundreds’. No other batsman has ever scored more than one double hundred and then there is Rohit who already has three to his name.
- Captaining an IPL winning side: Iit is Rohit Sharma who has been the most successful IPL captain ever. He has led Mumbai Indians to four IPL winning titles and ironically three of them have come against the Dhoni-led CSK in the finals. Virat, on the other hand, has been with RCB since the inception of IPL and has been their captain since 2013 and still couldn’t deliver a trophy for his franchise.
- Five centuries in a single World Cup: Rohit has six centuries to his name in just the two World Cups he has played so far. Rohit scored 5 centuries in a single edition of the World Cup. It was also a tournament where the Indian Skipper went century less.

He has now hit the most number of sixes ever by an Indian surpassing MS Dhoni’s record and currently stands at 232 hits over the ropes and is at the 4th position in all-time most sixes record. He is also the leader of the most number of sixes hit in the history of T20I Cricket, even ahead of the ‘Universe boss’ Chris Gayle himself.
Virat on the other hand relies more on hitting fours and keeping the ball on the ground rather than hitting it in the air. His game is more based on picking singles and converting ones into twos and hence is far behind Rohit’s tally with 120 sixes so far in his ODI career.
