66-year-old races 31km daily with a horse

Batala (Jai Tiwari): 66 is an age when people find it hard to walk because of knee pain and diseases, but, Balwant Singh of Talwandi Ziyuran sprints daily with horse.

He is so fit that Balwant rushes to Gurdaspur, 31 kilometers away from his village, in one and a half hour, reports states. He has won more than 100 medals and trophies.

Balwant Singh was fond of running from childhood. At the age of 18, Balwant started playing kabaddi, but left fearing terrorists. Once, Attari bagged the first position in the BSF race and won a prize of Rs 5,100.

He has also secured third place in the race held in Mumbai. Apart from this, he also participated in many rallies in Mumbai, Lucknow, Allahabad, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Delhi, Gurgaon, Patiala and Sangrur.
