Balasore: A few days after a woman was arrested for thrashing her octogenarian mother-in-law, police Monday arrested a man on the charge of thrashing his elderly mother at Baitapada near Basta in this district.
The matter came to the fore after a video of the assault went viral on social media sites like Whatsapp and Facebook. Sridhar Barik was seen slapping, kicking, and thrashing his mother with a stick even as she begged of him to be kind to her.
Basta police took note and arrested the man. He was being produced in a court, Basta IIC said.
