Chhendipada: A youth died as he was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Angul-Chhendipada National Highway-63 near Pitabali square at Parang village in Angul district while he was returning home Monday night.
The deceased was Kalia Sahu, 30. With no one around to reach him to a hospital immediately, he died due to excess loss of blood.
Some passers-by later spotted the body and alerted the police. Sahu died by the time police reached the spot. The body was sent to the district hospital and the autopsy was done Tuesday morning in the presence of a family member.
A case was registered and a probe launched to identify the vehicle.
