Berhampur: A truck driver died and a biker was injured in a road accident near Ankuli over bridge on national highway number-16 here Friday morning. The deceased was Satyanarayan Bisoi and the injured as Bhaskar Rao Achari.
A truck from Bhubaneswar heading for Berhampur collided with the bike coming from the opposite direction at about 5am. According to the eye- witnesses, Satyanarayan tried his best to stop the vehicle to save the biker, but failed. In the process, he himself got thrown out of the vehicle and got hit against the road, leading to his death on the spot.
Berhampur police sent the body for postmortem and Achari for treatment to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital. An unnatural death case has been registered.
