R. Udayagiri: Police Friday cracked the murder case of Prasant Pradhan of Karadabad village under R. Udayagiri police limits in Gajapati district and arrested two youths.
Accused Kamal Pradhan and Budu Pradhan confessed to their crime during interrogation. According to police, Budu suspected his wife of having an illicit affair with Prasant. He along with his friend Kamal hatched a plan to eliminate Prasant.
The two friends then confronted Prasant over the issue. Things took an ugly turn after a fight erupted between them.
In a rage, Kamal and Budu attacked Prasant with sharp-edged weapons and hacked him to death.
Later, they dumped the boy in a canal while Budu had hid the murder weapons in his house.
A case of murder based on a complaint by Prasant’s family was lodged and the two were produced in a court. They were remanded in jail custody after the court rejected their bail pleas.
