BHUBANESWAR: The sixth edition of Lata Mangeshkar musical nite was organised by Upasana at the Soochana Bhawan here Thrusday.
Director, Department of culture Bijay Kumar Nayak was invited as the chief guest of the event. He inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp in the presence of General Manger, H&A, NALCO Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Chairman of Grag son’s and group Satish Kumar Garg and Secretary of Odisha Cine Critic Association Dillip Hali.
Siddharath Mishra, Babita Kar, Seema Mohanty, Babu Udgata and Ranjeet Mohanty among others performed solo on some of the songs of Lata Mangeshkar.
Organiser Lobhabati Biswal told Orissa POST “Lata Mangeshkar is the goddess of music. She has contributed a lot to the nation. We organise this musical nite every year to relive her best songs. We also hunt new talent through this event. We provide budding singers from the entire state with a platform to showcase their acumen.”
