BHUBANESWAR: DAV Public School, Pokhariput celebrated the inaugural day of its annual function ‘JASHNN-2018’ on the school premises here Wednesday.
The festivity was on a grand and spectacular scale which witnessed lively and energetic participation of more than 700 students.
The celebration commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Justice Bijay Kumar Nayak, Chair Person, Odisha State Law Commission, Guest of Honour IPS Satyajit Nayak and the other dignitaries followed by the musical chorus ‘Amrutara Dipti Ame’. K C Satapathy, the Regional Officer of DAV Institutions, Odisha Zone in his welcome address emphasized on the coordination among students, teachers, parents and management for progress of the school.
Principal Sujata presented the annual report by enumerating the school’s achievements and the latest milestones in all arenas. Students, teachers and the other staff members were felicitated by the guests for their noteworthy achievements in scholastic and co-scholastic areas.
In his address, the chief guest opined that rise of nationalism in every Indian and teaching of law in very early school life will bring a great change in national development. Guest of Honour Nayak in his speech mentioned that education must go beyond textbooks comprising spiritual and moral values which will inspire students to stand against corruption and crimes. M M Panda, Chairman of the School Managing Committee, said that excellent coordination is required to put an education establishment on national map and congratulated the school for doing so.
In cultural presentations, the students mesmerized the audience through their performances in the programmes named Jaya Hai, Wings of Happiness, Cinderella, Al-Khemia Dance, Padharo Mhaare Desh and Jashnn – E- Bharat. Parents were the happiest gathering as they saw their children performing so elegantly on stage.
