Bonai: Eleven vehicles were involved in an accident due to dense fog, killing one person on the spot and injuring two others at Godposh square near Uttara in Sundargarh district Saturday morning.
While the deceased and injured are yet to be identified, they all are drivers.
According to reports, a thick blanket of fog reduced visibility Saturday morning. The accident took place when there was a collision between two trucks. One of the drivers trapped under the debris died on the spot. On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued people.
However, before the mangled vehicles could be removed from the road, nine more vehicles including a Haya truck, a pick up van and an auto ran into one another.
Later, fire personnel and ambulances joined the rescue operation and admitted the injured to a nearby government hospital.
