Nimapara: The body of a man was found hanging from a utility pole near Patitapaban Patana Sethi Sahi under Nimapara police station Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Kalandi Maharana, 23, of Bhodar village under Charichhak police outpost. His body was found hanging with a towel from the pole.
According to sources, locals gathered near the electricity pole as soon as the news about the death of a person spread in the morning. They informed the police who reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Charichhak hospital.
Meanwhile, Kalandi’s father, Gobinda Maharana, has lodged a complaint with Nimapara police stating that his son has committed suicide. He mentioned in his complaint that Kalandi had gone to his sister’s house at Debimandapsahi Sunday, “but it is suspicious as to why he committed suicide at Nimapara.” Police registered a case (17/19) and started an investigation.
