Bhubaneswar: Following the direction of the Centre for seeding of Aadhaar data of the state’s pensioners under social security schemes, the District Social Security Officers (DSSOs) have been asked to ensure 100 per cent compliance.
In a recent meeting of all the DSSOs, the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) department has asked the former to ensure 100 per cent Aadhaar compliance.
The DSSOs have been asked to digitise the data of the pensioners and upload them on the Centre’s database on the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) website by September 30.
A communication to the DSSOs from the SSEPD department said, “Digitisation of beneficiaries’ data under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) and NSAP should be expedited and completed by September 30. 100 per cent digitisation should be ensured. Daily monitoring of progress of the work will be made at the concerned branch of SSEPD department. Replacement may be necessary in case the staffers fail to ensure complete digitisation,”
The department has meanwhile noticed that audits of pension disbursements have a lot of anomalies in some areas. The DSSOs in their recent meeting have now also been asked by the department to ensure audits of unaudited districts.
The meeting also revealed that only 12 districts have so far complied with the Accountant General (AG) audit report. “Discrepancies were detected under NSAP and MBPY in some districts. It must be rectified and complied with as soon as possible. The left-out districts must submit their compliance reports within seven days of the meeting under intimation to the SSEPD department,” the advisory to the DSSO said.
The SSEPD department has also asked the district representatives of the department to pay special attention to the concerns raised by the persons with disabilities. The advisory to the DSSOs said, “Grievances of differently-abled, particularly which are highlighted on social media, are to be disposed of on priority basis by the Grievance Redressal Officer of the department and districts.”
