Kendrapara: A video featuring a Class X boy saving his friend from the jaw of death by pulling him out from sea has gone viral here. The incident took place Friday.
Gyana Ranjan Behera, Prithviraj Behera and two others had gone to Pentha sea beach under Rajnagar block to play. Later, they decided to take bath in the sea. It was when they were having bath that a high tide swept away Prithviraj. Seeing him in trouble, Gyana did not lose even a moment and plunged into the water and swam towards Prithviraj and managed to pull him ashore.
As the news of his brave act started spreading on social media platforms, appreciations and praise for Gyana started pouring in – mentioning the time tested adage ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
Gyana, who looks content, says when he was rescuing his friend, for a moment, he felt he would also go deep down into the water along with his friend. But the next moment he braced himself up and managed to bring his friend to ashore.
