Lockdown extension likely as South Asia witnesses nearly 6000 COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: The quantity of affirmed new coronavirus cases in South Asia approached 6,000 Saturday, even as experts in certain urban communities fixed limitations on development and cautioned lockdowns could be stretched out in an offer to get control over the pandemic.

“If people don’t obey the rules seriously and cases continue to rise, then there may be no option but to extend the lockdown,” Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra health minister was quoted as saying by Reuters. “It could be stretched out in Mumbai and urban zones of Maharashtra by about fourteen days.”
