Mumbai: Today is the birthday of Sagarika Ghatge who played the role of Preeti Sabharwal in the film Chak De! India.
Sagarika was also awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award for the film Chak De! India.
She married cricketer Zaheer Khan in the year 2017.

Sagarika was born to Vijaysinh Ghatge (not Vijayendra Ghatge, as sometimes reported) and Urmila Ghatge in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, where she stayed till the age of eight. She then shifted to Ajmer, Rajasthan to attend Mayo College Girls School. She is related to a former royal house of India through Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, with her father being from the former royal family of Kagal and her grandmother, Sita Raje Ghatge, being the daughter of Tukojirao Holkar III of Indore. She has a brother. She was a national level hockey player
In 2012, Sagarika worked with Emraan Hashmi in Rush. Along with Hindi, Sagarika is also very active in Punjabi and Marathi films. The Punjabi film Dildariyaan is one of Sagarika’s hit films.

Sagarika has also appeared in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 6. Post appearing in Chak De! India Sagarika became the brand ambassador of Reebok India.
In 2019, she made her digital debut with ALT Balaji’s Boss – Baap of Special Services where she portrayed ACP Sakshi Ranjan opposite Karan Singh Grover.
Sagarika and Zaheer ‘s relationship came to the fore when both of them came to the reception of Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech.

The two met through a common friend. In an interview, Sagarika had said, “I and Zaheer met through our friend. Whenever I met my friend, I used to say that Zaheer is a good boy.”
