Kakatpur: Angry parents of students of an English medium school at Srichandanpur ransacked the school premises after it was alleged Friday that a teacher was indulging in sodomy with a girl student.
The angry mob ransacked furniture, window panes and buses of Sri Gauranga English Medium School and burnt tyres on the premises before staging a protest demanding arrest of accused teacher Prasanta Mistry.
According to sources, the school had suspended classes due to heatwave, but the teacher conducting separate tuition classes twice a day. The accused hailing from Ramnagar in Kendrapara district forced the minor student to have anal sex Thursday evening.
The girl’s parents who learned about the incident Friday rushed her to Kakatpur health centre and lodged a complaint with the police.
Meanwhile, tension flared up at the village as the matter became public. The angry guardians reached the school and demanded action against the teacher who managed to flee the village.
Nimapara SDPO Arun Kumar Jena accompanied by Kakatpur police IIC Rabinarayan Bhanja and other officials reached spot to take stock of the situation and pacified the protestors.
The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the accused. A case under Section 376 and protection of children against sexual offences (POCSO) Act was registered, Bhanja said.
