Man jumps into Mahanadi in Cuttack, goes missing  

Cuttack: A man Sunday jumped into Mahanadi river in Cuttack and went missing.

The person has been identified as Debashis Das, a native of Chauliaganj area Cuttack. He worked as a lab assistant at the Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) Autonomous College in Bhubaneswar.

According to a source, Das came in a car, parked it on Jagatpur bridge in Cuttack and came out. Before anybody could realise his motive, he jumped into the water.

On being informed, a team from Chauliaganj police station reached the spot and launched an investigation. Efforts are on to trace him, it was learnt. He was still missing at the time of filing this report.
