Bhubaneswar: The election to the post of Deputy Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly will be held at 9.30am November 21, a notification issued by the state Assembly Secretary read Tuesday.
The post of Deputy Speaker has been lying vacant since November 8 following the resignation of Rajanikanta Singh.
Notably, Singh — the four-time BJD MLA from Angul — was elected as the Deputy Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly in June 2019. He won from the Angul Assembly constituency in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019.
