Bhadrak: In a shocking incident, voting was halted for over an hour in booth number 4 at Muktadi school under Kaupur panchayat of Bhadrak Assembly constituency as a man killed his wife with a sharp-edged weapon on the booth premises, Saturday.
The deceased woman was identified as Rashmirekha, 25, and the accused was identified as her husband Prabhakar Rout, 30, from Muktadi village.
On being informed, Bhadrak Rural police station officer Amitabh Das reached the spot and detained Rout.
Voting resumed after Das assured that the voting period would be extended to allow all voters to cast their votes.
