Cuttack: Stewart School in Cuttack marked a historic occasion Friday with the inauguration of the Netaji Museum, honouring alumnus Subhas Chandra Bose, one of India’s most prominent freedom fighters.
The ceremony opened with a hymn, followed by an invocation led by Rtn Rev SK Nanda Dr RR Senapati, secretary of Stewart School, wwho elcomed the gathering, while Principal D Martina introduced the guests.
Dignitaries were felicitated before the chief guest, Dr Kethoser Kevichusa, director of BMS World Mission, delivered the keynote. He praised Bose’s courage, leadership and the lasting relevance of his ideals.
The event was attended by BMS trustee Tejdor Tiensoh, Alliance Defending Freedom director Melamshwa, and several educationists and community leaders.
A cultural programme followed, featuring an English skit, “Netaji – Our Hero,” an Odissi dance, sand art, group dances by nursery and kindergarten students, and patriotic songs.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer by Rev FC North, CEO of the Diocesan Board of Education, and a vote of thanks by coordinator Reshma Pradhan.
School leaders said the museum stands as a testament to Stewart School’s historic link with Bose and will inspire students with his values of courage, sacrifice and service.
