Puri: The league stage of the men’s division in the Third All-India T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Championship concluded Saturday at Shri Jagannath Cricket Stadium in Penthakata of Puri district with 16 teams advancing to the knockout rounds.
The tournament is being organized by the Tennis Ball Cricket Association of India in collaboration with the Odisha T10 Tennis Cricket Association and Shri Jagannath Darshan Charitable Trust.
On the third day, 15 league matches and eight knockout matches were played.
Uttar Pradesh defeated Telangana by 47 runs in the opener, while Karnataka beat Maharashtra by 79 runs in the second game.
Jharkhand downed Uttarakhand by nine wickets, Meghalaya defeated Andhra Pradesh by 40 runs, Goa overcame Rajasthan by eight wickets, Himachal Pradesh edged Meghalaya by 20 runs, Delhi beat Haryana by seven wickets, West Bengal thrashed Telangana by 55 runs, and Tripura topped Andhra Pradesh by seven wickets.
Odisha Host beat Uttarakhand by 40 runs, Purvanchal downed Sikkim by seven wickets, Madhya Pradesh beat Maharashtra by 28 runs, and Assam defeated Rajasthan by eight wickets.
The 16 teams moving forward are AIID, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Bharat, Odisha, Purvanchal, Jharkhand, Odisha Host, Goa, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura and Karnataka.
Similarly, all the women’s division knockout matches, along with the men’s and women’s quarterfinals and semifinals, will be played Sunday. Finals in both divisions are scheduled for the evening.
