New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: At the Odisha Pavilion of the 44th India International Trade Fair 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Mission Shakti and the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water department are representing the Government of Odisha, showcasing a vibrant picture of a self-reliant India in the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’.

Over nine days, the participating stalls have recorded sales of over Rs 13 lakh and held successful business discussions with government and private institutions from various states and countries. The Odisha Pavilion features six ORMAS stalls and four Mission Shakti stalls, showcasing handicraft products prepared by rural Women SHGs.

Live demonstrations of the craft-making process are also being conducted on a dedicated demo platform. At the six ORMAS stalls, visitors are exploring daily-use and home-decor items made from gourd by the Prerana SHG of Rayagada; dokra craft from the Jai Jagannath SHG of Dhenkanal; lac jewellery crafted by women of the Nilagiri Lacquer PG in Balasore; traditional Odia sweets and chhenapoda made by Krishna Chhenapoda of Nayagarh; tussar handloom textiles for men and women from the Gopalpur Tussar Handloom PE of Jajpur; and a range of eco-friendly coir-based home-decor items and toys created by Utkal Coir of Puri.

Similarly, the four Mission Shakti stalls are offering pattachitra paintings made by the Maa Bhuasuni SHG of Raghurajpur in Puri; golden grass and sabai grass products crafted by the Siba Parvati Golden Grass group of Kendrapara; paddy craft by the Dhanalaxmi SHG of Nabarangpur; and paper mache creations produced by the Sri Jagannath SHG of Anandapur in Keonjhar. From November 14–22, the ORMAS stalls at the Odisha Pavilion recorded business of over Rs 7 lakh, while the Mission Shakti stalls achieved nearly Rs 6 lakh in sales. The combined stalls have emerged as a major attraction for visitors from India and abroad, particularly for their wide range of gourd craft products.

The Prerana SHG from Rayagada, which is exhibiting gourd handicrafts, has already held commercial discussions with Rudrashil Products of New Delhi. Senior administrative officials from various states and ministries, along with representatives of business organisations, have interacted with stall officials to explore opportunities for production and marketing of the showcased products.
