Bhubaneswar: Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), the technical directorate of the Electronics and Information Technology department Tuesday launched ‘Emerging Technologies Training Camps’ for secondary and higher secondary school students across the state in presence of Electronics and Information Technology Minister Mukesh Mahaling and School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.
The state-level inauguration was held at the ICONIC Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV), Andharua.
In the first phase, the programme will be implemented in 100 government secondary and higher secondary schools, benefitting nearly 12,000 students.

The initiative will be expanded in subsequent phases to cover all government schools, OAVs, government colleges and universities.
The training camps will offer hands-on exposure in AI, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics and cyber security awareness.
The programme is sponsored by OCAC and implemented by Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) to ensure effective on-ground delivery.
Addressing the gathering, Mahaling said, “Emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics and Cyber Security are shaping the future workforce.
Early exposure will empower students with innovation-driven skills essential for nation-building.”
Joining as a guest of honour, Gond encouraged students to adopt technology for building meaningful careers, while E&IT department Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev urged them to gain a deeper understanding of advanced technologies to contribute to the future economy.
OCAC CEO Pradeep Kumar Raut motivated students to become job creators by leveraging emerging technologies.
Live demonstrations of AI, IoT, Robotics and cybersecurity applications were presented by OKCL Managing Director Manoranjan Puthal.
