Muniguda: An employee of the Muniguda block administration collapsed and died outside the block office gate in Rayagada district Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Sushant Gouda, a VB-GRAMG (Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission) assistant working under the Muniguda block.
According to sources, Sushant complained of stomach and chest pain early in the morning and visited the Muniguda Community Health Centre for treatment. After consulting a doctor, he was returning to his residence in the block colony when he suddenly collapsed in front of the office gate. He died on the spot, eyewitnesses said. On being informed, Muniguda police reached the scene, recovered the body and sent it to the Community Health Centre for post-mortem examination.
After the autopsy, the body was handed over to his family members. The family later took the body to his native place, Gunupur, where the last rites were performed. The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. While a cardiac arrest is suspected, police said the exact reason will be known only after the post-mortem report is received.
