The festive season is upon us. Durga puja, one of the most beloved festivals of Bengalis, is celebrated by a lot of people all over the country with great pomp and show. On this occasion, women dress up in beautiful Bengali attires and offer prayers to Goddess Durga followed by several other rituals. All women want to look their best on this day and thus put in extra effort while getting ready.
Sunday POST We spoke to a few stylists who shared their expertise on festive make-up.
“Bengali women celebrate Durga puja in complete traditional attire which includes a stunning silk sari with bright border and the make-up is quite simple and glowing at the same time. For Durga puja you don’t need to wear a glamorous make-up it should be simple. If you are attending a day function then your make-up should not be dark and if you are going for an evening party try shimmer make-up it work wonders. Before applying make-up, ensure that your skin is well moisturised before applying make-up and then you can start with concealer and foundation and finish it with compact,” says Jyoti Singh, director of JLoves Fashion.
“Highlight your cheek bones with a sheer blush for a radiant glow. Concentrate on your eyes. You can use gold or copper eye shadow and finish the look with dark kohl pencil and eyeliner. Go for a red lipstick which will gel well with gold and copper shades,” she says.
Zodiac make-up presents an individual personality they reflect their personalities so hair and make-up should reflect the same.
Amelia Daswani, popular make-up and hairstylist and founder of London Blow Dry Bar also shares a few makeup tips for fashionstas:

Pooja make-up:
For puja the make-up should comprise a big red bindi, red lips and blush that show up. With big thick winged liner and lots of kajal, go for a simple make-up with winged liner and bright lips.

Garba look:
Wear a small black bindi near the eyes and a small tattoo on the back, shoulder or hands.

Toronto-based make-up artiste Setareh Hosseini recently honoured each zodiac sign with a unique make-up look, and the results were pretty much unreal.
For Cancer, she used lots of reds for the lips, accessories, and even on the cheeks. She finished her look with pearls and some crab claw earrings — fitting for the crab sign.
For Gemini, Hosseini did two different looks on her face to represent the twins.
Hossieni did dramatic eyes, dark lips, and added a septum ring to pay homage to the bull that represents Taurus.
For Aries babies, Hosseini created an incredible contoured make-up look and added a pair of serious ram horns.
Hosseini didn’t shy away from fish lips for her Pisces look. She also added some gorgeous “scales” on her forehead, highlighted her collarbones with a shimmery hue, and coloured her brows a watery blue.
Capricorns got the earthy brown tone treatment that’s true to their sign. She added a dark, glittery lip, and a serious cat eye.
