Khiladi Akshay Kumar tweets thanks to Orissa Akkians

BHUBANESWAR: A trailer identical to that of the up- coming Akshay Kumar’s film ‘PadMan’ uploaded by Odisha Akkians, a fan group of Khiladi actor, on You Tube grabbed the attention of the megastar him- self. After watching the fans-made trailer video, Akshay sent love to his Orissa fans and wrote on his Twitter account, “Thank you so much for all your ef- forts! Big love to Odisha.” In return, Odisha Akkians replied, “Thanks Sir for watching this.” The video was uploaded January 14, 2018, to pay tribute to their Bollywood icon. The You Tube video comes with a statement, “This is the fan- made tribute to Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie PadMan.
This tribute is made with lots of love and support from our Odisha Akkian family.This video is not for any commercial purpose.” Akki fans Rakesh, Smrutimayi, Jasmine, Rajat, and Deba enacted in the video.
Ajit and Sagar have directed it. The whole trailer has been ed- ited by Sagar. Speaking to Orissa POST, a member of the fan group Siddhant Swain said, “It was boundless joy for all of us as our star liked the video and ap- preciated. We uploaded the video after 20 days of hard work. We shot the video in Bindu Sagar near Lingaraj temple, in a village and in one of our friend’s room.” Another Khiladi fan Rakesh Panda stated that the video was made to impress their star. The film ‘PadMan’ will hit the screens across the country January 25. The film is based on real story of social entre- preneur Arunachalam Muruganantham. The film is an attempt to create awareness and eradicate the superstitions surrounding sanitary pads that are prevalent and practiced in India. Siddhant said, “Odisha Akkians have planned to cut the cake on the film releasing day and also to display a cut-out picture of Padman Akshay Kumar. We will also wear T- shirts which are made for this occasion.” The fan group has over 180 members across the state.
