Keonjhar: Police Monday arrested four people for killing a woman near Dharmasala here over extramarital relationship.
The accused were identified as Sushant Nayak (28) alias Kalia of Mandua village under Sadar block, Pabitradihar Babu Mukhi (19) of Keonjhar town, Sheik Biru of Bhuladar Sahi and Lulu Nayak (23) of Kendeipashi village under Turumunga police station. Police produced them in court the same day.
According to reports, the 40-year old deceased woman, wife of Kalia, one of the accused, was staying near V Mart. Kalia was living separately. The other accused, who eke out a living by picking up rags, lived on roadside. The three used to keep physical relationship with the woman without the knowledge of her husband.
On the day of the incident, Sushant alias Kalia came to know about the affair and tried to kill his wife but failed. Later, Lulu alias Tera attempted to rape the woman in the night after Kalia left the house but failed to do so. Frustrated, he pushed the woman to the ground. The others bludgeoned her to death and dumped the body near Dharmasala.
