Bhubaneswar: In another multi-crore e-book scam case Commissionerate Police Tuesday arrested an official of Inner Quality Business Solutions Pvt Ltd (IQBS) here for allegedly duping over 200 job seekers.
The accused was identified as 22-year-old Urvashi Nayak of Kashipur in Keonjhar.
The matter came to light after some locals filed a complaint with Kharvel Nagar police station in this regard May 29. The complainants had alleged that company directors Vikrant Sharma and Kuldeep Sharma and one Sumeet Bhardwaj had given advertisements regarding e-publishing jobs.
Company officials claimed they make e-books and provide assignments to a few people. They suggested scanning of every page and put under a folder. After the work, the data was to be given to the company. The company was taking security deposits of `10 lakh from each employee and paying them `10 per page. On receipt of huge deposits the company shut its operations and fled the scene.
The company was registered in January at Cuttack and was operating from Mallick Commercial Complex under Kharvel Nagar police station area here.
Police have frozen all bank accounts of the firm which was being operated by some Agra-based youths. The police were planning to visit Uttar Pradesh to probe the case.
This incident comes after a similar scam involving the APS solutions which had duped people of over `100 crore.
