Another sex racket busted in city

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police Thursday busted a sex racket operating out of an apartment at IRC village in Nayapalli area here and rescued three girls.

This is the fourth such bust in the city this month.

Two men were arrested along with the main accused Litu Senapati of Keonjhar, who was carrying out the illegal trade at a rented accommodation in Bishnu Priya Apartment (N-5/97) under Nayapalli police station.

The other two apprehended are Dutee Charan Mohanty of Salia Sahi and Debashis Swain of Kenduapada village in Bhadrak district.

As per sources, the entire building was earlier used by a real estate firm. However, police are yet to establish any connection between Senapati and the firm.

Thursday, the police was informed by some locals who suspected some illegal activities were going on in the apartment. On receipt of the information, Nayapalli police conducted a raid.

According to the locals, the prostitution business had been going on at the house for the past several months, but they were deceived as they thought that the building was still occupied by the construction firm.

With the rise in such cases, it is becoming evident that the state capital has become a hotbed for illegal sex rackets.

Among the four rackets busted this month was one in which several Thai girls were rescued from a spa at Bapuji Nagar.
