Bhubaneswar, July 7: In yet another twist to the casting couch case, Friends Foundation Trust Thursday approached Mahila Police and urged it to interrogate the parents of the minor girl who was allegedly molested by actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom.
Members of Friends Foundation lodged a complaint with Mahila police against the minor girl’s parents, saying they were changing their statements frequently.
“The minor girl’s parents are giving contradictory statements to the media regarding their daughter’s appearance in court. Their statements are also misleading the police in the case. We have urged Mahila police to question the minor girl’s parents also in connection with the case,” members of the NGO said.
This comes in the wake of the minor girl’s parents July 6 asserting that their daughter was at home all day June 28, but the police claiming they had produced the girl in a court and had recorded her statement under section 164.
The minor girl’s father had reportedly filed an affidavit July 4 at a court here seeking withdrawal of the case against the actor by pointing out that the matter has been compromised.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of the minor girl’s parents said his clients have not yet received a police notice to depose before it.
Mahila police station had reportedly served a notice to them July 6 asking them to appear in person before them within the next seven days.
