Rayagada: Anti-Maoist posters surfaced in various parts of Kalyansinghpur in this district Sunday . The posters were released by the Adivasi Ekta Samiti. They were found pasted on the walls of the Kalyansinghpur government high school and the local Jagannath temple.
The Samiti, via the posters, condemned the violent activities of Maoists and urged them to stop terrorising people. “Stop unleashing violence and killing Dalits, women and youths in the tribal-dominated areas including Niyamgiri,” the posters pleaded.
The residents of the area have welcomed the move against ultras.
Meanwhile, Maoist posters were found on walls in Paplur area under Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district. Maoists opposed the construction of a road between Kalimela and Karubagaon. The posters bore the name of CPI (Maoists) and stated that a new road by itself would not help improve the lives of the tribals.
“Maoists are trying to create panic among the people and opposing developmental works. The posters have been seized and security intensified in the area,” a police officer stated.
